Canterbury 2017 Divisional Champions

SHAKOPEE, MN – Canterbury Park announced the 2017 divisional champions at the conclusion of live racing this evening.  The horse of the meet was very impressive 2-year old Amy’s Challenge owned by leading owners Novogratz Stables, trained by leading trainer Mac Robertson and ridden by leading rider Jareth Loveberry.  Amy’s Challenge dominated in her maiden win, earning a North America leading Beyer Speed Figure of 91.  She came back on closing day to win the $75,000 Shakopee Juvenile by a neck over a very game Mr. Jägermeister with 18 lengths over the rest of the field.

When Angie Hermann asked Mac Robertson something like what is the best part of winning this year, his reply was “Being interviewed by you instead of Brian Arrigoni”. He said it with such a straight face, he was hard to know he was joking! I’m not sure if everybody heard his comment!
