Prairie Meadows Draws First Card of the Season

Prairie Meadows teed up the 2017 racing season today as entries were drawn for the first day of racing on Thursday, April 27.

There will be nine races on the opening day card with a post time of 6:00 PM with the feature race being the 5th, a $45,000 state bred allowance featuring a field of eight fillies and mares.

The average field size, before scratches and not including a pair of also eligible in the finale, for the nine sprints is a solid 9.6 per race. Racing will continue through the weekend with another 6 PM post time on Friday and 1 PM on Saturday and Sunday.
