SHAKOPEE, MN – Owner Rodney Von Ohlen was hoping for some redemption this season when his homebred, V Os Filo took the track for the $25,000 Bob Morehouse Stakes for Minnesota owned or bred quarter horses.

“We had some success here a couple of years ago,” Von Ohlen said. “But last year we didn’t win too many.  I told my wife before the 150 mile trip up here, ‘I hope we’re not going all this way for nothing.'”

V Os Filo ($11.80) broke beautifully, covering the 400 yards in 20.752 and was the top half of a trainer Ed Ross Hardy exacta as Dashin Tee ($11.80) finished 2nd.  Little Bit Brandy ($3.40) was third.

“He has a tendency to break a little slowly,” said winning jockey Nik Goodwin. “I knew if we got a good break he would be really tough to beat.”

“We always thought he could do something special if we could keep him healthy,” Von Ohlen continued.  “There was always something with him but he’s feeling good now.”
