Canterbury: New Admission Procedures for Owners, Fans

SHAKOPEE, MN – Canterbury Park today announced new guidelines for additional owners and fans to be able to attend the races.

OWNERS

Owners will be permitted to reserve space in advance on track level for up to a party of four (licensee, plus three guests). Preference will be first given to individuals with a horse in the day’s races.

Parking is restricted to the general parking lot. There is no valet parking at this time.

Owners use the main card casino entrance, where their party will receive a health screen and wristband.

Owners are restricted to the Walking Ring, Bookkeeper’s Office and Track Apron during the race card.

Each Owner’s ID Badge (if issued by the Minnesota Racing Commission in 2020) must be visible.

Here is a link to the track’s Licensee Reservations System. You must make a reservation to attend: https://v2.waitwhile.com/book/racinglicensee

FANS

Patrons can reserve a table up on the third floor for $15 and a spot on the mezzanine level for $10. Here are the details from a Canterbury Park email to fans:

  • All guests and team members will have their temperature checked with our new touch-free, state-of-the-art scanners prior to being allowed into Canterbury Park.
  • All guests and team members are required to wear a mask upon arrival and in designated areas throughout the facility.
  • Physical barriers are installed, furniture is repositioned, and designated queuing lines are established to support social distancing throughout the property.
  • Capacity limitations are defined and implemented for all building areas.
  • Operational hours are currently limited to 10AM – 4AM to allow for full overnight cleaning

You can find details about our COVID-19 Preparedness Plan at canterburypark.com.

While we know the situation will continue to evolve, here is our current reservation and seating plan for racing customers:

Clubhouse Table Seats:  $15/pp

  • Includes admission, program and 3rd floor table seat with view of racetrack and private TV.
  • Table seat will be assigned upon arrival.  Tables can accommodate groups up to 6 people.
  • Bronze MVP players receive $3 discount

Mezzanine Level:  $10/pp

  • Includes admission & program.
  • Seats available for guest selection.  Social distancing in seating must be maintained at all times.  Fans are encouraged to utilize the same seat throughout duration of stay.
  • Bronze MVP players receive $3 discount

This year, we have strict capacity limits for live racing attendance and strongly encourage fans to purchase seats in advance.   Seating options may be added as we are able to host additional fans throughout the season. Because we are limited to 250 people per area, all attendees will be required to have a paid ticket this season, including kids under the age of 18.

Post time this season is 4:30 PM with live racing this week and next week being run on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with a Monday through Thursday schedule thereafter until near the end of the meet.
