Innovative Partnership Boosts Hall of Fame Weekend Purses at Canterbury

Shakopee, MN – Canterbury Park announced a unique and creative partnership with corporate partners CertainTeed, SRS and JTR Roofing, Inc. to add $3,500 to each purse on the eight-race program Saturday, July 25. A total of $31,000 will go directly to purses on the Hall of Fame Weekend.

The Saturday card includes the Ralph Strangis, Minnesota Turf Distaff and Mr. Dale Filly & Mare Turf Sprint, all turf allowance races. 

Sunday, July 26 features the Victor S. Myers Stakes and Frances Genter Stakes will be sponsored by Kiger Equine Insurance, with $1,500 added to those races, bringing the value to $51,500 each.

“Working with partners to create added value exposure and increase purses for racehorse owners and trainers is beneficial to everyone,” Director of Corporate Partnerships Kip Rakos said. “We are pleased to make Hall of Fame Weekend a more lucrative event for the Minnesota racing industry while also hosting a partner event in our event center.”

The JTR Roofing, Inc. Expo Day is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, July 24 and 25 in Canterbury Park’s Event Center. Representatives from each company will be onsite during the free Expo. Interested home and business owners can view products and seek advice.

Racing begins at 5:10 p.m. on July 25 and at 1:10 p.m. on July 26.
